11:41pm as I write. (Just made it.)
Whoa. Today was a day. In a good way. A significant piece of my art sold and that means a whole lot more than an extra few bucks for me. The best part - the very best part - is that the exhibition opened to VIPs at 5:30pm, the public at 6:30pm, and sales were being taken from 7pm.
At 7:10pm I wandered over to Little Birdie to see, by chance, with no expectations, if it had a red dot.
LO AND BEHOLD….
Someone had their eye on it from the moment they saw it and snatched it when sales began. That is what means the most. Someone really wanted it, so much so that they dare not think twice. They nabbed it immediately. SOLD!
How good that feels to me as an artist, to know that my creation is desired by another. Thank you whoever you are that invested in my art.
Tonight was made all the more special sharing it with friends.
Half a dozen sparkling white wines were had at the event (by me alone), plus two G&Ts and a little grooving at The Grace Emily followed.
Now it’s a cup of tea and bed.
Today was a good day.
