I would not describe today as thrilling in any shape or form but tonight I got excited at yoga. Strange place to get stimulated, yes, but there ya go!

My day was filled with writing Staff Code of Conduct policy and procedure. Ten pages later and it could have all been summed up with one principle: Don’t be a dick. But I knew that wouldn’t cut it with the Fair Work Commission so I added lots of detail. Ten pages worth.

Anyhoo, tonight at yoga I was lieing there, towards the end of the class, and an idea came to me about a photographic art project. I don’t normally do ‘projects’ so I was so curious about where this inspiration came from. I “looked” at it (in my head), and within 30 seconds my idea jumped from one element to another, and then to yet another, and I was buzzing. How on earth this masterpiece of a concept entered my mind while I was totally chilled at yoga I will never understand.

Isn’t the mind incredible?!

I know with all of me that this is going to grow into something bigger than I imagined while lieing there on the mat, because it has the potential for layering, to tell stories (which satisfies another part of my artistic life) and truly, I can’t wait to create it.

Let me share it with you first (I haven’t even told Angel yet!). I’m going to photograph 100 people - head and shoulder portraits - and make a 10 × 10 collage to the size of 100 × 100cm. There’s tonnes more to this, but that’s all I’m saying for now. Ooooh so exciting! I hope you’ll be a part of it. If you’re keen, please drop me a comment or a DM on socials and I’ll keep you informed.
