10 September 2026
Today is R U OK day. I hope you R OK. Not just today but everyday. And if you’re ever not, I hope you feel you can talk to me, or sit with me, or just be, with me.
Be whoever you want to be, with me.
It’s been a wonderful day. My birthday always is. Completely blessed with the love of friends and family and my husband. My sister treated me to lunch at Semaphore. Tonight Dave took me into the city and we got a rockstar car park. I’ll never take that ability of mine (to snag the best spots) for granted. Now I hope I haven’t jinxed myself by putting that in writing.
We had champers and hot chips (fries to be exact) and then I, on my own, went to the opening night of the Oasis documentary which tells the story of their Live 2025 world tour. It took me back to last October in Melbourne where I went to three of their reunion concerts (again, on my own) and it also gave me all the feels as I resonated with the meaning behind the movie, which was as the title says, Don’t Look Back In Anger.
As we get older, hopefully we can be less judgmental, release grudges, stop sweating the small stuff and generally cut the crap that holds us apart. Everyday I find something to moan about. I just want to get better at life. That’s what I want. I want to be lighter. Happier. Brighter. Looser (i.e. more loose!). Generally groovier.
Something I do a lot is imagine the songs that I would have at my funeral. In the movies tonight I think I came across another. At this rate my funeral’s gonna be one long show of ripper songs.
Listen Up
Listen up
What’s the time said today
I’m gonna speak my mind
Take me up to the top of the world
I wanna see my crime
Day by day
There’s a man in a suit
Who’s gonna make you pay
For the thoughts that you think and the words
They won’t let you say
One fine day gonna leave you all behind
It wouldn’t be so bad
If I had more time
Sailing down a river alone
I’ve been trying to find my way back home
But I don’t believe in magic
Life is automatic
But I don’t mind being on my own
No, I don’t mind being on my own
Listen up
What’s the time said today
I’m gonna speak my mind
Take me up to the top of the world
I wanna see my crime
Day by day
There’s a man in a suit
Who’s gonna make you pay
For the thoughts that you think and the words
They won’t let you say
One fine day gonna leave you all behind
It wouldn’t be so bad
If I had more time
