“Make It Happen”

Little darling, it's been a long cold lonely winter
Little darling, it seems like years since it's been here
.

Here Comes The Sun means to me….

Anticipation (for the love of sport)

On 31 March 2019 I was engaged by the AFL to photograph corporate events at the Adelaide Oval for the AFLW Grand Final, Adelaide v Carlton. I completed my brief at half time and got to the field to capture the action moments into the third quarter – just as Erin Phillips was being stretchered off.

With each injury I witness, each final siren that sounds (most especially that of the grand final), I sense sadness at competition coming to a halt.

This is my tribute to sport. For the fans who can’t wait for next season. For the athletes that endure the long and sometimes lonely “winter” of sporting hiatus. Sometimes it seems like years since it’s been here. Indeed, injury recovery can take years. But with steely determination and anticipation that’s fever pitch, champions make it happen.
